DIY Face Mask Fix

Hey Stranger, Welcome to the DIY tutorial!

If you're an excessively tiny adult human being who still has the face structure of a twelve year old, you probably had the same problem I did when your amazingly rad Outre Femme face mask was too big and awkward on your precious face. WELL, lucky for you, I refuse to leave my house feeling less than the illest and I found a way to make sure you feel fly As F*ck in your mandatory face covers. Don't worry this tutorial has PICTURES.

 Let's get to it...

Materials for your face mask fixxx:

Most of us adulting out there have a sewing kit collecting dust bunnies somewhere and TODAY is the DAY you actually get to use it! Congrats! If you don't have a sewing kit that has most of the materials in it they are super cheap and you can find everything you need at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels....pretty much anywhere.

  • Outre Femme Face Mask (Any print)
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Needle
  • Thread
  • Panty Hose/ Tights
  • Seam Ripper
  • Sewing Pins
  • Safety Pin

- Step 1 -

Using your seam ripper carefully rip out the diagonal stitches holding the ends of the elastic bands to the corners of the mask. Throw away the icky elastic 'cuz we got other plans for the bands.

- Step 2 -

Turn your face mask around so that the white side is on the top and the print is underneath.

Take one side of the mask and fold the edge towards the middle just over the corners about a 1/2" of the print should be showing.

Pin the top and the bottom in place to prevent slipping while stitching.

- Step 3 -

Grab your needle and thread and stitch the end of the mask leaving holes at the top and bottom where the mask is folded over.

You can follow the same stitches on the end to make sure you are sewing in a straight line. *If you have a sewing machine by all means use it! You'd be saving some time.

Once at the end tie a knot x2 and cut the thread.

- Step 4 -

Grab your panty hose or tights that you snagged a hole in and pushed to the back of your underwear drawer. I had footless tights that I used the ends of.

Cut about a 3/4" thick piece so that it makes a small stretchy ring like a hair tie.

Then make a cut into the ring so that you now have one long piece.

Stretch it a few times to loosen the fabric.

Take your safety pin and attach it to one end of the panty hose strip.

- Step 5 -

Push the safety pin through bottom hole of the stitched portion on the mask.

Keep working the safety pin through until it comes out from the top hole and remove the safety pin.

- Step 6 -

Grab the two ends of the ear strap and sew the ends together. It doesn't have to be a clean stitching just as long as it's securely together. This part is not going to show.

Pull the ear straps through from one end until the part of the straps that were sewn together are on the inside part of the mask hidden from the world.

It should look like this:

**Repeat Steps 1 - 6 for the other side of the mask**

You did it!! Yaaaaaaasssssss!!
